Adventures In Metal Detecting

It’s safe to say, that I AM a “techy” kind of guy.  I love playing with different software and apps for my phone in an attempt to improve my chances of finding more and better “stuff” with less searching.  To that end, I have settled on the following apps for use on my phone – an Android – and computer programs.


MAPRIKA ( ) – I posted the video from Heath Jones and Task Force History last time that got me started with this app and it’s companion PC program.  I can’t speak highly enough about this combo!  You have to do the research and find the old maps, but once you have the images in your computer it’s a simple matter to create a map that you can upload to the MAPRIKA server and then download to your GPS enabled smartphone or tablet to take into the field…
