Make Your ProPointer Quieter

If you are like me, you don’t like to attract attention when detecting in parks. One thing I like to do is quiet my Garrett Pro-Pointer down some. A simple and affordable way to do that is to wrap some electrical tape around the speaker area. Some detectorists like to also add some reflective tape in case they happen to drop their propointer.

This simple mod both quiets the pro-pointer down, and it keeps dirt out of the speaker holes! It is still loud enough to hear with headphones on, and with the vibrate function it is still very easy to locate targets in the plug! This mod also does not void the warranty, and that is always a good thing!

Hope this helps some!

Happy Hunting Dig Fellas!

    Good tip.

Nice. I just put a bright orange piece of electrical tape made by Scotch on mine which also partially solves my gripe about the ProPointer being black!!!! It should be safety orange or at least not black. I’ve accidentally left it after a recovery or when it dropped from its holder when I bent over funny too often. If it is near dark or in tall grass the black can be extremely difficult to find. Thanks for the tip. I killed two birds with one stone.

Good thinking about the bright orange tape! That will definitely make it easier to find should you drop it in the woods while hunting! I have actually lost mine before, and luckily I found it! I’ll take a tip from you and get some orange tape too!
